What's up gang welcome back to the quarter mile podcast episode for here we are we've made it to the
fourth episode in fast and furious or as I like to call it the one that nobody cares about this is
seriously Bailey I so before we do the episodes I always like go and listen to other people's podcasts
kind of see here where we're just going on learning some things yeah and there are like no fast
and furious for podcasts out there nobody cares it's not we are we're in uncharted
charaday there's like a few but so welcome to if you're into fast and furious for we have the episode
for you so it's the fourth child fourth child that's that people often forget exists that's why it's
forgotten yeah absolutely I don't actually know many friends who are like fourth-ch at children exactly
yeah that's the thing is maybe we just don't make friends with those people so we are so glad you
guys are here for our fourth episode we much like fast and furious we are back in our one of our
original stomping grounds back at Bailey's house what their motto was like same pieces new car or something
where we got the same pieces but just like fast and furious we brought back a good friend from our last
episode Allen Ingalls is now yeah so just like fast and furious four brought Hans back we brought Allen
back so fan favorites all the way he's not dead he's not dead he's still here before we get into
the episode Bailey what's going on how's life life is going pretty well drew thank you for asking so
I've actually got a song coming out here up and just uh what like what two weeks or so two or three
weeks it's gonna be on May the fourth May the fourth it's gonna be dear diary and May the fourth
because I've got a little Sith far great here tattooed on my wrist so it is definitely personalized
to me and also to you guys because May the fourth be with you so just keep that in mind we're gonna
have the links in the embedded yeah and what we'll post it uh I mean this episode is coming out on
the 24th of April so you have time right now to pre-order it and we'll get the links there for it
you know it's Bailey's birthday on April 28th so it is you're like I would love to get Bailey a
gift but I live in some foreign country so many miles away from where they're at you can just
listen to my song called dear diary beat by bay b-a-y and it's gonna be all on the links in there
and also it comes at at 4 4 4 a.m. on 0 5 0 4 May the fourth be with you in the in the morning yeah
do you think anyone's gonna be up at 4 4 4 a.m. that's the whole point exactly it'll be up there already
but it's five o'clock somewhere I'm okay that's fair I'm totally gonna wake up at 4 4 4 in the morning
and listen to it yeah I'm gonna go live you all can join we'll go live on the quarter of my podcast
channel and I'll just listen to the song together at 4 4 4 a.m. on May 4th and we can just share our
opinions on it so I think we're gonna we're gonna do that tell us a little bit about dear diary I
ask already knowing that's a pretty cool song with a concept so I guess it's kind of like my debut song
more so is like my new artistry kind of like setting up how I am as a person and it's just a
it's called dear diary because it's like how you would sit down and just journal out your feelings
and just be like all right dear dear past me is kind of like how it is so it's like dear past
Bayley although life is kind of sucked it's given you a bit of backhanded moments it's it's gonna get
a lot better and you're gonna get some relationships break a few hearts have your heart broken you know
maybe want to punch something and cry but you also want to dance to your own beat because at the
end of the day you are the only person that you have complete control over yeah I love it I think a
lot of getting older is giving yourself permission to be yourself you have to give yourself permission
to be yourself and you have to give yourself permission to ask the hardest questions which a lot
of people around where we're at right now don't want to ask the hardest questions so that's kind
of what I'm doing right now yeah well that's awesome well keep asking the hard questions and you
listening you asked the hard questions yeah for example one of the hard questions is what's the
point of fast and furious for and you know it just like you're talking about how the best years are
yet to come yeah this movie sets up for the best movies that are about to come we are in fast and
furious for there's no thus in this title no those just fast and furious straight to the point yes
and so just as a response recap I guess we're not in the fast and furious for yet we're still talking
about the few drove we'll get to fast and furious eventually this is the longest intro before we even
get to the movie but just going back a few people that responded to our last episode which was a
really good one we really appreciated Rusty's a car museum for letting us film that we really
appreciated Alan and the whole entertainment company for taking care of us a couple things to know
one one of our reals that got like a ton of attention uh wait this is probably the best response
so many people disagreed with us that Vin Diesel had like got a producer or role in
yeah and they're like this is this is wrong you're incorrect and I didn't really know to say because
I was like I googled it and that's what the internet said there's articles about it also there's
a podcast I listened to we're just in Linda director said this is what happened so unless there's a
huge Vin Diesel conspiracy theory I'm unaware of yeah alternate dimensions or something I guess maybe
we're stuck in a loop yeah this isn't what this isn't even real we're not even real that you're not
even listening is a different than diesel I guess that's why it was confused but it was we got a lot
of like this is wrong yeah I didn't know what to say I was like well I'm sorry I googled and that's
what our article sold me so on a on a lighter note we had another response uh so we did have
a real where I mentioned how I don't appreciate the double standard maybe we both are holding
our microphones uh hopefully at an adequate amount away from our face for the viewers to enjoy them
but I was making fun of that a little bit about how people say Bailey's out of pretty face and people
like cover years up to me uh and then the then the the the lady that made the comment is like oh
you both look great uh so I Sloan I appreciate you I don't know if we're gonna post this even as a
real but maybe you're a long time listener of our board episodes so check us out on all of our social
media it's the quarter mile podcast on a lot of things quarter mile podcast on tick-tock uh we you know
if you believe in what we're doing and want to help support us uh you can donate to our quarter
mile podcast family on buzz-brow we have all the links wherever you're listening right now so check
that out yeah support yes and thank you in advance okay I feel like we can talk about fast and
furious for now is that yeah may the fourth be with you here we go may the fourth speaking of which
Bailey's released we're never gonna talk about the episode we're just gonna keep talking about other
things fast and furious for this movie came out in 2009 I was a junior in college so excited to be
done I was probably doing an internship in Maryland uh well it came out in June so I probably was uh
not a junior yet I was about to go to I don't know where I was somewhere in college Bailey what were
you doing in 2009 I was definitely going through a lot of medical problems oh glad you made it
up okay oh I was in second grade okay I was going into third grade and I had a seizure
and also had to do like your to reconstruction and stuff like yeah yeah that was a rough year it
was a lot yeah that explains by this movie did so poorly it's the world because I didn't watch it
I know time to watch it Bailey's condition I guess yeah and it's fine when you live in your learn now I
look cool with bunch of scars there we go and and I'm sure you can tell do you ever tell people like
fake stories like yeah I should be doing that every time someone has you gotta score you need to come
open a new crazy story so maybe just start sharing with them the plots of fast and furious and
yeah I was yeah gotten by eight I got torn open one by one limb by limb by a bear yeah you barely
got out of it yeah you're welcome all right so fast and furious for directed by Justin Lin who came
in the third movie and he started directed there and he's kind of a big force as to why fast and
furious is the way it is now because he did three four five six seven and nine so he's a he's a he's a
big help but not eight no that when we get to eight and ten we'll get to talk about why Justin was
not in into it it was not great there was a lot of the family drama going on in fast and furious
and I'm excited to actually sit down and try to learn what all is yeah they all like dance around it
that's weird in their conversations but I think tell us the tea yeah I think without knowing any
the details really for sure right now I think it all comes down to vindies on the rock um and they
had to deal with something that sounds about right who's taller who's who good win and a
bottom who has more muscles maybe people pull people when we get to fast five or fast eight like
just who's better vindies or who's more sexy yeah comment below who's sexier the rock or vindies
will we want to hear you give that opinion um like your parents age now at this point yeah this they're
they're like they're definitely my parents at this point not not my parents but that's great so this
will be starred vindies a little paul walker golga dot and this was her first movie debut this is
pre wonder woman pre whatever else she's in I don't know what else she would be in well wonder
woman is a pretty justice league pre justice yeah but no this I forget about this but this was her first
movie how cool would that be I think we talked about those last of the if your first movie was
yeah I actually I had forgotten completely that she was even involved in these movies and that
I had actually watched her growing up yeah without even knowing that at whenever I watched Wonder Woman
but then again let's be honest she's like times three more muscle and like she looks like an Amazon
woman also she's totally different there's a lot of work in out between yeah yeah which I mean
it's been a while yeah so but it's I'd be interesting when we watch the later movies if we can see
like her muscle like that if she just looks like a she was definitely it's like from pretty much my
age to like full on woman yeah so I mean it makes sense she was tiny and a baby she did she did
go to this movie yeah she did really good yeah trivia question yeah take it however you will golga dot
even and is what do we think which one who would you which one
if it is like uh 2009 I would probably say even and is okay oh but then if you had to
compare like if I had to say Wonder Woman definitely gal go do okay yeah that's a good point I think I
agree also in this movie Michelle Rodriguez kind of how weird is that she got credited it as a
regular in the movie but she died right but that was good marketing on their part though
that was letty oh yeah she was you know previews and stuff they're saying she's in she's you know
in the star of the cast and she was in for like cold open and that was it right but they that was
part of the and then Jordana Brewster Mia who still currently is my least favorite character we can
get a little yeah yeah I don't know when I start liking her but it's not in this movie she's just there
yeah it's honestly yet yeah what does she do not much but we'll get into that when we get in our
and opinions the reason but for now yeah what the reason everyone wants comes to this podcast is
do here what is artificial intelligence think of fast and furious for exactly so welcome back
gear heads and movie buffs buckle up because today we're slamming the pedal to the metal with a
fun and friendly recap of fast and furious the fourth installment in the adrenaline charged fast
and furious franchise this isn't just any Troy ride it's a full throttle reunion that brings back
the original crew for another high octane adventure dot dot go on to the next scene let's start by
revving up the engines with a quick flashback remember the good old days when we first met street
racing maverick dominic to redo to redo yeah and at her cover cop Brian O'Connor well folks after
a few detours in some time apart our favorite frenemies are back together and this time it's personal
which is true it's confusing actually in the beginning and fast and furious dom played by the ever
brawny vendizel is living a life of fugitive freedom hopping from one exotic locale to another
but no island paradise can keep him away when tragedy strikes close to home oh no
doms back in Los Angeles fueled by a need for vengeance and the octane of his trusty muscle cars
meanwhile Brian portrayed by the late great paul walker r_i_p_ has traded in his badge for a corner
office at the f_b_i_ so we think but don't let the suit fool you glad they say that he's still got
that itch for the street racing scene in a soft spot for high-stake chases when their past cross
once again it's not long before the engine roars entire screech echo through the streets of la
dom and brian are forced to reignite their complex bromance to take down a common enemy
a notorious drug lord who's using underground street races to run his dirty business as our heroes
but the battle to the metal were treated to a smorgasbord oh my gosh i can't believe i just had to
say that and didn't know i was about to say that of heart-stopping races death-defying stunts
and of course a fleet of drool worthy cars actually i agree because the muscle cars are
so nice that'll make you wish you had an extra garage i already wish i had an extra garage
from the dusty deserts of mexico to the neon-lit streets of la yesterday i don't even have garage
this movie shifts i'm a girl i have peripheral vision okay this movie shifts through gears faster
than you can say no which i mean it's not but fast and furious isn't just about the thrill of the chase
no it's a story about loyalty redemption and the links will go to for family
take a moment yeah man dom and brian's friendship is tested to the limits but through the smoke in the
wreckage legal smoke and wreckage just kidding the emerge stronger than ever
so listeners if you're in a need of high speed escape fast and furious delivers the cinematic
equivalent of a naaz boost to the senses it's a ride that reminds us of why we fell in love with
this franchise in the first place the cars the camaraderie the unmistakable call of the open road
that's it for today folks tune in next time we'll take the re-
yeah let's take the ramp to fast five where the stakes get even higher and the family gets even bigger
as in number quantity until then keep your engines hot in your spirits wild keep those wild
spirits everyone keep them wild spirits the american spirits you little hipsters yeah that's an
that is an organic cigarette i know that from working in retail that is that is that's
on drew davis comedy by the way pluck pluck pluck that's the only so so wow um
yeah you know that a i somewhere says so much and so little at the same time then diesel is uh he's
very brawny they have camaraderie and apparently uh we're treated to a smorgasbord
borg borg smorgasb yeah yeah you had it right the first time yeah of heart stopping races so you know
but we weren't really like that's that this is the start of the movies where they stop doing a lot
of races they did one race in it right i mean yeah but i will say there were some moments in this
movie where i kind of was like a on board and then after two seconds of me being like a on board
something happened and it was like a huge explosion or somebody die or get like literally demolished
by a car like you probably can't even see the grease stains by that body at that point because it's
just like it runs them over it happens like five different times the one at the end where he's
holding the guys yeah and then that's when vindies old arm trail comes out and
yeah that might be the most gruesome death i was like fast and furious walk it see what yeah that
was intense what would we say we're someone like the more boring the whole moment the two seconds of
nothing i have a few ideas but i'd look here years as well probably every time paul walker and
Mia were around each other yes every time they were around each and i hate that so much because i'm
such a sucker for romance even straight romance or whatever romance even straight romance
sorry that we're so disgusting so gross just disgusting no that was literally a joke because let's
be honest here there are so many moments in this freaking movie where it's like okay trigger warning
i mean not actually trigger warning but there's like random women just like making out of the
corner over here but it's like every scene randomly they just put like random women making out in the
corner i'm like i don't know if they're trying to be more like society advanced or like if you're
just like women at this point in fast and furious if i saw a fast and furious without random woman
when i'm making out in a spot that no one would just go make out ends but they're like we need to do a
camera scene where women make it like there's probably someone who works for fast and furious that
you know when they look at the final script of a new movie they're like not enough women making
out of it is this really a fascinating because i mean at the beginning the first movie that you know
back in 2001 that was like their way trying to create like a cool looking party from high school
boys first acting and i get that but like at 2009 and there's literally that's the boring parts like
every single time they go back to like that very first you know this is like the cool boy college
party scene you know and then i'm like here we go and at this point you're like these are grown men
they're not frat boys anymore like like maybe too fast to furious brine o'connor but like
fb i'm not even romance it's just like i'm gonna go hit it and quit it yeah super romantic i mean it's
really not i mean come on like don and letty have more something going on and then she just dies so
i don't get that straight romance i get like random get it quit it and then party scene so i don't
i feel i feel like the movies always make you want to love the romance between mea and brine's
character like throughout the movies and especially in this movie i just don't see it yet like
making it later in movies like man i can't i'm i don't remember being bothered by them so
they're not really romancey they they like you're hot two conversations and then they bang yeah
that's that's a which which is not a great example for straight romance i feel like more conversations
they even even us straight romantics got to do more you know strike strike off but but but
dominlety now that is a good i that's my favorite couple in the movie even though they weren't much
in this movie they're both crazy together yeah that work they're craziness works doesn't it like
so i agree i thought one of the most boring scenes in the movie so is interest i'm sorry say that again
a setony percent angel oh yeah that's right 80% double oh yeah when he was describing his perfect
woman like we'll get there okay we'll get there okay sorry uh i thought the most boring scene
and it was all in how they filmed it honestly was there was there was there was a point in one
of the races or maybe they're going to the race where it was like there was like no lights anywhere
i mean they were trying to be quiet so they turned their head by itself but like it was just total
darkness yeah and then they go into caves for even more darkness the desert is for like 10-ish
minutes yeah and like at first i'm like oh it'll just it'll get something here so boy but it's
because we couldn't i feel like someone forgot it's black yeah i feel like there was a and they
were just like you know what we're on a schedule just roll with it yeah because i had all my lights
here turned off like everything was really turned off and the tv screen was probably the only like
lit part it was like eight o'clock at night so it's just all you saw was this black screen and then
like dusty sand for like maybe five minutes straight well i would go back and forth to those people
looking back and forth on the camera it's like can we see them and then we're like no because we
can't even see them right yeah it's like no they're fine they're fine yeah and i just felt like
that scene went along to them and i know that when people critique this movie that's what they
talk about i will say though usually the creases like when you if you read a review this movie they're
talking about all the scenes that are filmed that way i really thought it was like just that one the
other ray scenes are pretty cool yeah i thought those were pretty good my favorite thing in the
whole movie is the dynamic between dom and brine like the yeah you know and for a good chunk of
the beginning of the movie you're seeing them in different scenes and you know it's leading up to
them eventually reuniting and it seems like dom was like oh i'm gonna be passive aggressive
towards you you know like a cat you know like my cats really ticked off at me i'm not feeding her or
like maybe i stepped on her tail and she's like just upset so she scratches me or does something stupid
this pretty much what dom was doing yeah he's like i'm just gonna you know mess it was very little bit
it was very like common collected around the guy who was the reason he was on the run for so
many years and who messed with the sister under false pretenses he held it together pretty well
i really did and i don't know if that was because of the bromance between him and brine's character or
if because he was so like on the mission to kill leddies killer right like i think he kind of
thought himself like as angry as i'm about this i'm gonna fake that it's cool so i can get because
you had an issue honestly though that's probably when it was yeah because i mean that's
throughout the whole movie even if it wasn't like super obvious i mean it was pretty kind of
obvious that he was dead set of just getting this guy gone yeah he's like leddies dead i'm pissed
let's get the second care this is probably the darkest we see dom territo there's a you know when
you get to fast eight there's a little bit of a plot where he's a little bit darker but like he didn't
care yeah but it was he was definitely like health set on revenge yeah and then was at the first
time we've ever cussed on this podcast no i cussed her i cussed i cussed so too so yeah that's a
that's a die hell bound diet curse word i don't know okay set was the word set was a word we needed
to change in that got it okay uh no he uh that was the interesting part was that he i mean the whole
in the whole movie he's just like you can you can almost like you're mourning the grief that he's
going through it and it reminded me that like at this point in the movie i mean dom eventually
dom grind become best friends there definitely the protagonist of the series but i forget that in
the first one he was actually the antagonist like he wasn't he wasn't really the good guy in the movie
and by the end of the movie he he had a life on the run it looked like there wasn't a like resolution
is character exactly in this fourth movie you don't see like a resolution to his character until
the end kind of when he decides not to kill the main guy right even though he still got the other guy
he still ran over the other guy but you know like but like we're all works in progress is we're getting
there it's fine he was more of a side character yeah i'll be honest this was a rough movie this wasn't
this isn't my favorite fast and furious yeah but if we control any kind of like greater meaning from
this movie and as much as i'll trash on her me it was the one who said it when she was talking to
Brian she said something like are you a good guy acting like you're bad or are you a bad guy acting
like you're good and in the movie you see two shifts in the main characters uh doms working through
some stuff with this grief but by the end turns out to be an okay guy and he kind of connect him and
Brian become buddies but then you also see Brian kind of like at this point total at the end of the
movie he's totally accepted his fate as like he's not a cop he's not an f you first of all i don't
even know how the fb i hired him back in who approved he's like i'm a good liar that's why they got me
that's a terrible reason to hire a long forcer yeah i lie about everything yeah and so yeah uh
they're yeah and we'll totally put you on this job involving vehicles which rest you completely if
you're a complete liar oh is it working with the guy that you got in huge trouble with in the first
movie sure let's do that again yeah they were it was awful uh on their call but but by the end of
the movie he's you know because you see it when they you know rush off to go save dom he's in one
of the cards like he's he's decided that this is the family it goes back to even in the first movie
when the police officer was like you know there are different kinds of family and yes you know he
was talking about you should be one of the police officers and it's so so clearly in this whole movie
and a whole series the police they the writers of fasteners do not have higher guards for police
no i think that's the point though because it's kind of like i mean it all goes back to a frat
boy's college dreams yep of like a party like a movie you know this is what this boy made in the 90s
of like his dream movie or whatever he wanted to live in world so definitely like the whole
forget the cops is like definitely the um you all know the quote that i'm trying to say
forget the cops yes yeah that's that that's that's that's that was exactly the whole thing i mean
that's been that's been a whole thing for like ages yeah so and that's that's frequently in time
for your demographic and and actually in the next movie we'll see they they really do they
really do forget the cops cops the main gun was braga the main drug lord guy
um but he was not as interesting as park guy right yeah as the as the guy yeah yeah the second
come in and my favorite moment of this guy was when uh i probably won't paint the scene as
beautifully as it was but you know it's towards the end of the movie where they um they're going to
get braga and so he realizes he gets kidnapped and he calls for help and then you see all of his henchmen
who are like aren't must it be on like a day off because i mean he was just hanging in church he was
made was a casual sunday or whatever and you see them all like get in their cars and the main his
main henchmen philix or is it philix or philix philix philix philix philix philix would be such a
chiller that sounds like the guy does it philix philix yeah i'm gonna get me a sub with philix yeah
absolutely at the at their old tunic sandwich shop um uh no so crust and philix is out there just
chicken fighting yeah he's like yelling and then he gets the call it's like he has to go back to work
so yeah okay which makes i don't know why this is so funny to me but i'm visualizing what is this man
do on his day off and he's yelling at some roosters just yelling at roosters having a great time come on
fight is ending it and also did you notice that a communist tattoo on him what like yeah it was right
there on his is this guy and it was like there was no references to why it was just how could
they make this guy look more villainous let's make him fight chickens in his date his is free time
and let's give him a communist tattoo oh man he was just like the stereotype for the villain henchman
and a wild card i was digging it i was like you know i like hating this guy and so i want to see a side
movie where uh it's just what's what's philix do on his day off when he's not interrupted just a
day in the life philix infuriates yes absolutely it just for like two hours screaming at some chickens
yeah just yeah maybe you lose some money and he has to go find the guy to give i don't know let's do it
jessonlin make this movie happen i know you're a big watcher or podcast you and vindiesel so
which who you tagged in one of our things surprisingly he did i said we love you
no responses i feel so heartbroken right now vindiesel i have some beef with you
i'm sure he well he can definitely listen to this yes and he won't
who care i love a hard time moving on with his life until he squashes the beef so
yeah next we got the we're reading what oh what you all think what fast fan feedback
yeah oh got some good responses as always one of you sent us a paragraph and it was so well written
in detail i actually was like i'm gonna read the whole thing that's epic yeah so uh paton said
uh regarding opinions and thoughts and stuff like that for fast and furious four he said i like
it a lot had a good plot a glad brine was able to return to police work and glad he got an r34
also the movie brought him back and it and that deserves so much credit so that is my favorite part
about the movie is that brought back the old cast yeah the original cast it made more sense that way at
least it felt like we were like back cohesive yep absolutely like what's going on the thing that
kind of was cool but also bothered me and and i'd love to hear your thoughts on this the cold
open with that really cool like train uh robbery scene where it had like vendingel and his whole
family his old crew yeah hansbrat had the two uh the two so mexican spanish guys i don't know the most
but like the the two guys who and they actually wrote the main song for this movie in the next
month yeah but uh and i don't much care for their characters they're in every now and again and
they just argue and it's kind of annoying to me but yeah they're like almost the side characters
of the family yeah i don't see them a lot there's supposed to be fun but like it's just it's just
kind of annoys me uh but but uh so they're all coming in and with letty and they're robin you know
they they steal the thing and it's a cool mom definitely a great way to open the movie and then
it starts off in a completely different direction it does it's kind of i think it might be them
leaning towards where the very first movie because how it was mentioned in the very like in the
beginning of our podcast where we're like well it kind of seems like the first three movies were
almost like by themselves how you mentioned that yeah and i can see that now especially with rewatching
everything because it seems like that they you know kind of just be like oh yeah this is actually
this is what they're originally doing let's redo this but in a better way yeah let's restart the
series and then keep it right so that maybe that was what it is i mean because they were doing
pretty much the exact same thing in the beginning of the first movie yeah they did not learn from
there no but they did learn yeah they got better at it somebody somebody just died yeah it takes you
know somebody else died for yeah and then it i i like seeing all those people like in his crew i would
have loved to see them more yeah and i think if i was to add anything to the movie not that they called
me an assed in 2009 um right but but had they called me i would have said uh when when they finally
decided to go into mexico and and and and you know kill this guy and all that stuff that would have been
and they couldn't do it with the police help that would have been in perfect time for Han and the two
Mexican guys and Gal Gadot come but they all come back and they help them like infiltrate infiltrate the
thing uh but really this movie was about Brian and Dom as they hear us right and that would have been
kind of like almost the same premises like the second movie as well absolutely yeah which is what
we said too we were like man would have been cool to see more the second movie so yeah but they
figure that out by the fifth movie the fifth movie there's a scene where they bring the whole crew
together and i think if they did that at any of the earlier movies the fifth one wouldn't be as good
okay so so i'll wow it that's why we have so many movies they've had so many retries yeah
that what is it 12 times a charm 12 times a charm yeah every month every month we're yeah um i
i promise the movies get better than this one barely i i i had you seen this one before or we i
i mean i've seen a lot of them i've seen most of them but for me to remember them is a different question
you don't watch them all before a new one comes out definitely not what's wrong with you it's definitely
not the best part of life honestly all right here's another comment from my friend zack and he wrote us
a book um but it was such a good random he basically like summarized we could have read this
as a AI summary he said uh this was one of the better ones in my opinion uh sorry baili he completely
disagrees with you that's fine um that sets up many relationships and foundations for the remaining
movies bringing brine back to the FBI makes us wonder what exceptions were made for him after Miami
that was a good question they were like you did what okay come on we'll give you a promotion um the
ridiculous use of GPS in the audition scene creates a desire to accomplish this in real life
pokemon go anyone how dom doesn't completely destroy brine when he finds lettys phone is beyond me too
also can we talk about how he got shot in one of the scenes it just like played and he was totally
completely forgotten about that he got shot and then it just kind of like randomly it was like almost a
play of the camera where they're like wait did that just happen did i miss the part did he just get shot
and then like after he completely fights off all the bad guys and does all the things
then later they're like oh yeah he's shot and he gets help maybe it's the adrenaline maybe it's
family i don't i don't know it's family this is the first movie where we see uh dom as a super hero like
he gets into car situations and walks it gets shot and he's like shwada bullet yeah that's all you got
he'll approve uh anyway uh sorry is that i interrupted your paragraph to um love the usage of desert
trucks in the final chase scene and the incredible death of phoenix keeps it satisfactory for the end
of the movie that was a great scene uh but leaving braga alive creates room for a comeback he has a
brief comeback in one of the movies um i agree with the judge that if you finally catch up to
dominate treto you got to get him in prison but 25 to life without the possibility of parole is
a bit harsh come on judge he did it he did in less than a week which you all weren't doing for months
period tell them that was kind of interesting they he's like good job we couldn't done this with us
also you're going to jail forever so yeah i mean i i understand that he was like the lead
of a lot of really bad things but also they just used him as an accessory to get what they wanted
yeah so that should also be legal like what what a nice movie ending if they were like you know
that we can see you grown as a person and changed and the past you doesn't the fun you you and then
they played dear diary as they're like you know what you are free to go and live a better life i think
that he walks out from the flames it starts raining he drops Disney
i love it i'm freaking and then there's no more movies after that that's like a collision of
fast and furious there we go that would be i mean i like the other movies but what an ending yeah
on my friend to Erica so i actually watched didn't rewatched the aircon mario two of my buddies if we
know like a lot of national comedians they're like hey let's let's join the next rewatch so like
we're starting a new family for fast and furious join us for a rewatch party at some point if
you're actually interested in it yeah we we get into it but but Erica said this is the best pivot
movie for a franchise and then she said do you hear that twilight she's throwing some shade in
twilight that's right uh what do you think what do you think about that Bailey i listen
twilight may not be the best movie or the best series made but by golly it sure did get popular
for a reason and it was i mean it was something that girlies and their moms could go and watch
on a middle school night so that's what i did and that is how i spent my life so that's that's why i
fell in love with twilight because it was actually something for me to do with my mommy and also
did to get out and it was adventure and romance and all that stuff you know so it was like borderline
adult movies but like for 13 year olds you know that's fair not too much but like just enough
honestly as as much as i as it pains me to admit this i think that's wonderful because just
watch a movie with with your mom you know having a good night like that like that's a cool thing
yeah that's a good bonding experience i think that's the beautiful part about movies music
tv shows is that it just connects people exactly and so whatever movie it is whether it's fast and
furious or or twilight which has a wonderful plot for some people and it's very captivating for
others uh and i'm sure as a grade something for everybody shout out Stephanie marr yeah absolutely
anyway another comment last comment will read Jeremy uh there's always the first comment on this
he keeps up with what we're going and i always appreciate that he says love this movie as it
brought the series back and set footing to to the move forward to what it is now it's a bridge from
old to new personally think it's one of the weakest of the entries i agree yeah uh he says but i
appreciate what it sets up so it didn't really have one of those it wasn't like a reboot yeah like
you know like that like fast-car and like flashes of things here and there it wasn't really like the
same vibes i will say that so like the start-up and stuff was not as like oh what are we gonna see
but yeah opening scene at least got me because i was like i've seen this before is this the right
movie right i think i think i love that set up for the next few movies and i feel like and i hope
you know you might you might disagree with me when you see the next one but i feel like the next one
they figured out kind of what they were doing for this movie and then they learned from fast too
and when they do the next one is a lot better and then like i feel like five six and seven are
the best that they've made so far i feel like those are the ones that i remember yeah so but i do i
think something they could have kept and they lose now for like all the rest of the movies is like
that street racing feel like there's a really cool race and even even if they threw in the hoki
and women are making out over there and there's fast cars over there and everyone's wearing you know
cheesy clothes they kind of miss their their original prerogative really yeah it's like this was the
this was kind of like what they were built on but then they change it but maybe it's because the
audience changes yeah maybe they could be that they're going for more popular taste or maybe they
were maybe they were also thinking what makes money yeah that was probably absolutely what they're
thinking what makes money but maybe they were also thinking the audience that they had were like
growing up as people yeah and so maybe i mean like i feel like i feel like too fast too furious the
first faster furious like that gives me like real frat boy vibes like when i was at a good 19 year
on this is what life's like but like now like i would have you know what i would have been
enclosed about mid early 20s for this movie but like if i watch this movie now as a 30 year old
i'm like well there's more to yeah and once you once you got like to like the 2010s i mean the economy
like the the the structure of people's mindsets and stuff like that also kind of changed so like you
couldn't put in certain things and movies without there being like hate crime or like cancellation
or like things taken out or just you know so they kind of had to maybe reroute what they put in
their instead of random kissing woman in the corner or partying in a a shrimp seat or something floating
in the air even like the language and things they make fun of about the yeah the language and stuff
are very interesting and i don't know if that in general i don't know if that's such a bad thing
because sometimes as we as SSI progress we accept like like okay maybe i shouldn't make a joke
about that like or maybe you know like maybe sometimes like i think as a comedian i love the freedom
of speech to make jokes about whatever i want but also as a comedian when i make jokes i realize
it's like okay i can joke about that but like should i joke about that right right and so i think
exactly that's a lesson to take from our cast there we go that's it should you say that
think about that next time looking at you tick-tock commenters yeah so here's a fast and furious
facts about fast four very hard movie to find trivia about like i said yeah nobody cares with
uh 72.5 million it has the highest grossing opening weekend for a car themed movie at the time
it beat cars in 2016.1 million what and all i could think about is how disappointed the majority of
those people were when they come to the movies whoa that's crazy everyone was so excited that
and i do i do vaguely remember how exciting wow they're making another fast of here so there had been
some time you kind of thought after Tokyo drift they were done it was a three movie series whatever
and then they're like oh no we're coming back with the original cast i do remember that excitement
but yeah uh that's six cuz good show be honest like cars was such a better movie than fast four
yeah definitely you had a lot going on there yeah so the song heard when dawn brine and me
at our eating is called los bend dorelos by don Omar and take a called called daryon they're sorry
guys if i'm missing your name and you're listening this podcast i apologize uh they play Leo and
Santos in this movie uh which are those two guys and in fast five their song is also heard at the
end of fast and furious six and at the cookout and there's they it's also heard in this movie um so
that's kind of i mean that's kind of cool in the movie director's part is they yeah they got a
couple artists who did a song for them but then they were also like hey uh we'll you know we'll put
you in the movie and we'll give you kind of a reoccurring role um i like that about fast and furious
the whole franchise is they bring so many random people in the rules yeah there's a bunch of cameos
yeah and there's a lot of people that they get involved i like when people get people involved
yeah if they're not like big names yeah it's fun yeah they've had some random big names that have
there they really have yeah i think a cardi b isn't one of the movies yeah uh keep davison in in fact
10 for really sorry i'm sorry we'll get there i can't wait that whatever it just said let's throw
anybody in there so i think they just take they really did that they really did the rock okay we
could go on oh my gosh all right so those are the fun facts and now we're ready for a bayley's best
bit so what do you got for us bayley so we have uh what the furious with bayley and we are going to
be naming the scenes that were very um off the wall like they happen and then it's almost like you
get triggered and it's like what what did i just see and then five minutes later you wonder if
you actually just saw what you saw so so was that like the dumbest moments the it was the we're well
it wasn't like infuriating it was like if the movie didn't have these specific scenes it
wouldn't lose any of the storyline but also what were these people on okay put this in the movie
so seems that added nothing yeah pretty much i mean i guess one of them added to it but anyways
so yeah the the scene that added to it is the one that we talked about when they were holding
their eyes foot and they killed them yeah so there's that first one where they were holding the
guys foot and they killed them then you've also got the second one i'm just going backwards pretty much
okay then these will started going on this whole like tangent of describing leddie in a very um
and daring and sexual way and then gal Gadot's character i don't even know what her name is on
his own uh uh uh i got um i'm like in this uh jay it starts with the j jazel jazel there we go that explains
why i didn't remember it um but it's a forgetable name i don't know i mean that's just like a totally
different name than what's been going on so but she was acting a very um affected while he was
talking like it was like a build up to something adultish so and then you've got the other one where
the guy that blonde guy that random blonde guy i guess that was involved number looking the really
like the bad guy race or whatever he had a ton of women in his house and he was just sucking on some
toes in 2009 guys this was a but it's time just so you know whoever you think came up with the whole
oh i'm addicted to feet and then these you know there's all these people out now with the whole
foot fetish no it this has been circulating since 2009 you're not special anyways there's that guy
that was sucking on a ton of random women's toes and this is not me exaggerating the cops come in
and they get them but it's like what did i just watch so there's that's why i said these are
baleys like what the furious because what are these moments yeah that's what what you know okay i
completely forgot about that foot yeah and i remember when i was watching it a exactly how weird
it would be if you were like walking into that when you're just no context also also we're just
gonna overlook the fact that to get ahead in this job they were like let's plan to illegal evidence
on the random guy on this random guy that's got maybe slightly bit of a brothel it's not a brothel
i'm not saying he i'm not saying he he probably had been doing some stuff that would get him in jail
but and but the fact that they're like let's just go ahead it was like an indie porn or yeah yeah
so uh that is the scene i'm gonna pick for the what the fear is you know you're right i really
went too much into detail i give myself away but can we just like take a moment why why was that
in that it could have done without it so much and that entire scene in general just didn't make any
sense like any lick of sense absolutely and you're on the way here when i was re when i was driving here
i'm from Nashville driving a Jackson i'm i have time thinking about fast and furious for
i was thinking of myself i'd forgotten about that singe completely i was thinking like hey this is
the first movie where we don't have so fast two i'd like a ton of hints of domestic abuse with
yeah she yeah fast one there's the controversy around me as age i don't want to break the internet
again about bringing that in the love story there the right but even if that wasn't fast three
had like dk and the high school girl and everyone was like yeah whatever man they're kind of related
but let's find right and so i was thinking of myself looking layable crap yeah i was like you know
what fast four look at them not having any kind of incest or and then they have the toe sucking guy
then they have that i think i think i don't know maybe maybe there's just like an inside joke or
something with the directors of the writers that are just like let's do something that's incredibly
questionable uh to most people's character and then just randomly throw it in there and then see
what people think because you know what if you tell somebody yeah there was a scene of this guy
with like eight different women and getting down in a weird way they'd be like oh i gotta go see this
yeah let's go watch the worst fast and furious movie i'm gonna steal bad for that actor though like
what if that was his first role and they're like oh what did you do in your own name well
no maybe that's how he was hired i'm really good special skills they're like what do you do
it's really i'm a food guy i love it well it's really weird he was best used with Schneider yeah okay
i think we've given this food guy enough credit on our podcast i feel like we're gonna reignite his
career as a creepy dude in movies um anyway let's talk about rankings uh first we're gonna um
first we're gonna talk about villain and then we'll talk about overall movie rankings and just a
reminder for all of our people listening all of our people watching uh we love hearing your
opinions we are doing an ongoing poll for the get it together barely i'm sorry no wait so we're
doing an ongoing poll where we're just giving people the option to rank the movies from best to
worst uh list of ten uh the highest ranking movie gets ten points low ranking gets one point uh
i forgot to check i forgot a lot of things for this podcast episode for example i forgot a mic stand
so we're we're we're rocking the double you know acting like we're stand-up comedians uh and i
also forgot to get the numbers of our actual poll but here's what i do know uh the fast and the
furious not the one that we're viewing today but the first one uh is currently in the lead with a
lot of points and then uh like the fourth one no the first one oh first one oh my god
i was about to be like you all better change that right now she's on the other foot when
Tokyo drift was on in the lead i was like hey vote and you got you're like let them have their
moments now that it could have possibly been the fourth one you were like listen to pull
midacrysts okay i am aware as long as we're claiming it that's exactly uh no the first one is currently
in the lead uh followed by the fifth one which we're viewing next week and by next week i mean next
month um and then the in the last two places are nine and ten they're very far down there so they're
that i people people are not fans yes so uh anyway so our uh how do we feel about the villains of
this movie in comparison to the other one this one got me actually okay i did like the villains a
lot better in this one i will say okay that was probably a massive upgrade just because i first of
all was kind of confused on even who the main villain was in the very beginning like when he was like
you know who is it who who we got to go find and then like a couple of random names get popping
up pretty much of like i'm gonna go find this guy and then i'm gonna go find this guy yeah but then you
had i guess it was like um i don't even remember who what was going on really but it was like before
they went into the whole tunnel scene when they were just trying out for the guy yeah his body guard or
his well the henchman the main that was the real braga was the guy who was like calling the shots
at the beginning that was the main villain yeah yeah the scene where they brought out like a a double
like who who was the guy that was like you think you think i look like a boss yeah so was he the boss
he was the boss yeah because there's a lot that's what i thought that was how the it it's
as a star artist manual appreciate this it was the whole padmy queen amadol i figured it was like
the whole swap thing yeah and so yeah and that's why that that was another moment where they made cops
look like idiots i have a little bit of processing problems sometimes so like i i always that's
why i had to rewatch it also three different times to try to figure out who the villain was but
i think that was a really really really good move for cinema honestly because it's like oh
because honestly it wasn't even just that guy that was a good bad guy like they were all pretty like
there's a pretty good they were all pretty good at being icky like even the foot guy you know
obviously so it was just but it was good like they had they had really good like bad moral people
in there so it was like oh cool these are obviously bad people these are obviously villains and they
could drive they can match the driving with dom and brian and so like a lot of the people in the last
movies couldn't even keep up for them yeah they're like oh man you crazy you crazy man and i'm like
dang you just hired him on purpose to do your job and you can't even do that so at least these guys
match their energy you know yeah cool so so would you put where would where would you put the main
villain in the race this should probably be top top one so okay cool so he's easier number one
definitely and i get that i i liked this villain what it does seem like about in a kind of
remind me of the second faster furious was when he was in the car with ball walker yeah i was
thinking that was a fun uh it was like you just got to see more of his personality kind of towards
the end of the movie i would still say it's just far of villainous bad guy the carter from two fast
dufirs to ill the me is like the worst that we've seen he's okay he's not gonna keep he's for me he's
probably gonna keep that role for me i mean he's he's pretty awful i just really liked the the
like complexity yeah you know i love some complexity to this character i would put this one as number
two though okay that's fair second worst that's fine yeah so obviously um it's okay if we disagree
uh it's sometimes you're wrong i guess it's okay it's okay if we disagree of course yeah i just i'm just
the right one here's my secret goal of this podcast i uh Bailey is so like nice when you disagree
with her where she was like yeah it's okay we can have different opinions or different people have
uh i am gonna break that at some point i'm gonna keep throwing small flak and we're gonna see
what sticks and eventually she's just gonna lose it on air and it's gonna it's gonna be a beautiful
and yet terrifying moment y'all don't want to see you out out because anytime i'm like yeah you're
wrong she's like okay this is me as a volcano and he is aware if this volcano erupts
tables will be flipped like Jesus so and we have a table here just watch it but i'm just kidding
i don't actually lose my cool i like that at least not yet we're we're we've we have
Drew's testing me you're trying to make me i think i can do it fast and furious i think i can do it by
eight i don't even need those last two i just create the fate of the furious that's me yeah yeah
my fate anyway i love that uh okay so movie rakeens i would put this one uh you know i feel like in
previous watchings i would i would i'd like to it less and i think part of it is i'm watching them
once a month i'm able to kind of zero in on each movie and enjoy them this last one i got to watch
for some buddies in mind so that made it for a fun experience so i actually enjoyed watching this
movie more than i usually do that's fair um so i'm gonna put it as in my number two position so
i still think two fast two fears i've enjoyed more uh but i'm gonna put it right after that um
because uh i i said this last month but the third to me if you took that out of the series completely
it wouldn't it would impact very little in the series uh so that to me kind of holds a lot more weight
with overall series and the first one i i just don't like the movie itself as much
but it like started the whole thing so i got to kind of respect that but i just no i just when i
whenever i watch it it's i mean at this point i've seen it eleven times like i've
i've just i've just not one of those movies that you're like this is worth watching eleven times i
don't even think vindiesel is watching eleven times like it's it's uh maybe i don't know
i don't know when he's on our broadcasts music i've listened to certain songs probably a hundred times
yeah in like a three month span so he's probably i don't know he's probably more tired of it than
anybody there's that one scene when he's like in this street race talking to all the people and
they're cheering him on and i've always thought like if that was me that would be my best scene in
movie history because like every there the whole crowd was just instructed to be like everything he
says make him sound awesome yeah he's treat him like a god like super that would and at that egg he
was like you know early 20s or whatever that would have been he's a cool name though he's a hero name
that's true territo yeah come on so yeah so i would say four two one no i would not say that i would
say two four one three what about you okay so i'd say two fast two furious is problem in my
favorite one just because like the plot line and everything yeah pretty much was like solid uh i'd
probably do uh i'll probably do this one after so like what is that for so we got four and then you do
i'd say number one and then three so it'd be two four one three all right yeah two fast two
furious the one we just watched the first one and then took your drift all right cool not to be that
guy but last month you put three over one are you disagreeing with past you are you you gonna yeah
yeah because the more that i look at Sean's face the more i get annoyed those are our movie ratings are
villain ratings have we covered everything Bailey is there anything else we want to say or shout out
